What Are The Chances Of That?

Death of a Pet Mouse

9.00am Nursing a dying Darkness.

Find her lying still against her food tray.

Later there is a slight shivering and movement of a paw

Her face resting on the other

Unable or unwilling to eat or drink.

5.30pm Out of her cage for the first time in her short life

On a bed of tissues, she dies.

What sort of life was that?

Wrapped in her little capsule

a toilet roll sealed at the ends with tissue

Ready to be sent to her new world tonight.
