Death of a Pet Mouse

9am Nursing a dying Darkness.

Find her lying still against her food tray.

Later there is a slight shivering and movement of a paw (the other one is tucked under, resting against her face).

Unable or unwilling to eat or drink.

Out of her cage for the first time in her short life, on a bed of tissues, she dies at 5.30pm.

What sort of life was that?

Wrapped in her little capsule, a toilet roll sealed at the ends with tissue, ready to be sent to a new world tonight.
